Yes... there are all sorts of potential nasties in physics research but trust me - there are many more in physical reality... if things went wrong in an experiment we would be very unlikely to know anything about it because at light speed (300,000 kilometres/second) we wouldn’t even have time to blink, considering this planet’s diameter at the equator is only 12756.1 km. There are far more worrying things in physical reality which we do not have the power to create which could snuff us out quicker than you can say ”Oh, Poo!”

Fire that sucker up and let the fireworks fly I say. No reason not to try it. If man must ponder the ”long-term” implications of our actions, why get out of bed in the morning.
